Asbestos Awareness training is mandatory under Regulation 445 of the the ‘Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022’. This regulation stipulates that any employer, whose employees work with asbestos, must be trained in the identification, safe work practices, and control measures relating to asbestos.
Work with asbestos is defined not only by employees in the identification and removal industry, but also anyone who's normal occupation may inadvertently bring them into contact with asbestos, such as plumbers, builders, electricians, geotechnical engineers etc.
Aimed at, and required by all those who wish to work on the fabric of any premises built / refurbished before the year 2000, and those who influence such works.
It does not train you how to work with any forms of asbestos, but how to work safely on site (from an asbestos point of view) and how to avoid the risks.
Who is it for?
Our Asbestos Awareness training is essential for those who will or may come into contact with asbestos as part of their daily work activity such as: general maintenance staff; electricians, gas fitters; plasterers; roofers; fire and burglar alarm installers; shop fitters; painters and decorators; demolition workers; heating and ventilation engineers; computer installers; plumbers; joiners; construction workers; telecoms engineers and building surveyors.
This comprehensive, half day classroom-based training course will raise the awareness of individuals to the potential dangers of asbestos exposure, and individuals whose responsibilities include the management of asbestos in their buildings. Beware of shorter courses that do not fully cover all aspects of asbestos awareness!
